Campbell Elementary School’s building, pictured here while school was in session earlier this year, will be kept vacant after the school board voted to shut down the school in a closure and consolidation plan.School might be out, but board meetings are still in session. Here’s a roundup of what has been going on in county districts, meeting-related and otherwise:

North Clackamas: The board decided to keep busy during a summer session, scheduling 11 votes for their Thursday night meeting. A few of the issues drew attention from the public, including the board’s failure to adopt a policy that would have allowed workers on construction sites to verify prevailing wage rate compliance.

Another determined the fate of three closed school buildings, which prompted critical words from two board members about charter schools and private schools. The board voted to pursue a lease with the Cascade Heights Public Charter School to lease out Clackamas Elementary, while the Campbell and Sojourner buildings remain empty.

West Linn-Wilsonville: The real news at tonight’s first board meeting might be the sheer number of new faces: new Superintendent Bill Rhoades is now running the district after Roger Woehl’s retirement and the board will swear in three new members. You can catch the meeting at 7 p.m. at the Wilsonville High School forum, 6800 SW Wilsonville Rd.

Oregon City: The Oregon City School District will also be holding its first meeting with a new superintendent, former Human Resources Director Larry Didway. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the District Board Room at the Jackson Building, 1306 12th Street.

Clackamas Community College: Board member Chuck Clemans, a former Oregon City superintendent, is recovering from a Fourth of July injury.
