“tax credits” to help fund depot school??????
Jayden Hardacre on January 11, 2011 in School StoriesIt was reported in the News Sentinel that “$880,000 from historic preservation tax credits” would be used to help fund the proposed school to be housed in the L&N Depot. School systems are a government entity. They do not pay taxes. Both the News Sentinel and the elected school board should be taking Mr. McIntyre to task on this one. I would really like to see one of the TV stations cram a microphone in his face and ask him to explain. There are so many more questions than answers. McIntyre claims that coverting the the L&N depot to a school would be less costly that locating a school in a building already being used as a school (Old Knoxville High School). Have blue prints even been drawn of the how the L&N depot would be retrofited as a school?
