MARIETTA, Ga. — The Cobb County school board has approved a $20 million project to rebuild Wheeler High School.
Rebuilding of the nearly 50-year-old school will begin almost immediately, close to the present school. Officials say the project should be completed by July 2014.
Proposed elements of the project that aren’t part of the plan include a culinary arts building, horticulture facilities, a black box theater and a bus canopy. Board member Tim Stultz says he hopes private money can be found to cover the costs of those elements.
